The Future of The Store Lives in People—Not in a Binder
The Store has a 10-year plan that can’t fail.
But it doesn’t live in a binder. It lives in people.
When we think about the future of The Store, we’re not sketching out org charts or long-range forecasts (though we do plenty of planning). We’re investing in people who will carry this mission forward, especially the next generation of community leaders.
That’s why we created the Young Professional Board. And applications for our third cohort are now open.
If you’re a young professional (22-40) in Nashville who’s serious about tackling big challenges like decade-high food insecurity, this is your invitation to step in.
Our YP Board isn’t symbolic or for show. It’s hands-on. Members serve on active committees like stewardship, events, and storytelling. They volunteer multiple times a year. They show up with their networks, their skills, and their hearts. They ask hard questions and offer fresh ideas. And they’re not afraid to get their hands dirty because they know this work matters. It’s a leadership pipeline for The Store, for our city, and for a future where families always have access to groceries with dignity and choice.
I’m biased, but I think this is one of the most dynamic leadership communities in Nashville, thanks to folks like Corey Sargeant and Bridget Stangland, who’ve helped set the bar.
Think of the young leaders in your world. The ones who are always ready to step up, solve hard problems, and lead with heart.
At The Store, our 10-year plan isn’t just strategy—it’s people. That’s why we launched the Young Professional Board: a hands-on, impact-driven leadership experience for emerging leaders ready to take on food insecurity in bold, creative ways. With applications now open for our third cohort, we’re calling on Nashville’s next generation to step up—and lead with heart.
